The First Online Consultation
With many issues, the first session will allow us to take the first step towards your goals, thus gaining some immediate relief and further inspiration. Online psychological consultation time is 50 minutes.
At the end of the session we agree on a plan for treatment, including the estimated length of online therapy. After discussing the presented issue in detail, specifying our goals, and agreeing with you on the plan of therapy, we can start our collaborative work towards your goals in a solution focused manner.
As a result of the first online psychologist consultation:
You will have a clearer understanding of the nature of the problem: its components, origin, how it is maintained, what we know about the best ways of overcoming it.

Important: If there are thoughts of suicide / self-harm associated with the problem, I am not the right choice. In this case, seeking professional help nearby locally is strongly recommended. Look for a clinical psychologist who specialises in this problem or ask for help via your general practitioner or the local emergency number. Please also refer to another psychologist with the relevant specialization (preferably locally in person) if you struggle with the following problems: severe depression, severe substance abuse, psychotic episodes, diagnosed personality disorders, psychiatric hospitalizations.

I am passionate about sharing with people the long term benefits of effective, evidence-based forms of therapy. As an online psychologist I work in an integrative way tailoring interventions to my clients, using techniques mostly from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Ego-State Therapy.
These methods help us understand the interaction between our inner experiences: our thoughts, beliefs, emotions, moods and behaviour. This enhanced understanding of our current patterns gives way to create a more healthy and harmonic functioning of these parts of ourselves. It helps us build a way of being that is more in line with our goals and values in life.
During online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) we work together exploring new, more helpful ways in which you can deal with stressful situations and difficult emotions. We focus mostly on the present and aim to build patterns of thinking, feeling and acting that will help you overcome: Anxieties, Panic Attacks, Stress, OCD, Fears, Trauma, Low Self-esteem, Low productivity, Unfulfilled potentials or Unhealthy habits.
The average treatment length in online therapy with CBT is around 8-12 sessions. It can take 2-8 or more than 12 consultations for successful treatment, depending on the presented issue. We collaboratively put together a plan that we find reasonable and always monitor how we are doing regarding our goals.
Therapy does not stop at the end of consultations. In my online psychologist work, I find it very important to always agree on certain therapeutic assignments between sessions. It is a kind of extension of therapy, that facilitates the manifestation of meaningful changes in client’s everyday lives.
These therapeutic assignments can be: Practising evidence-based relaxation or meditation techniques; Listening to therapeutic mp3 recordings; Engaging in behavioural exercises (e.g. facing anxiety provoking situations in a graduated way with learned coping skills); Filling in brief records of exercises; Reading materials about therapy (given by me, or in a recommended book).

I suffered from intense anxiety and OCD for a year when I realized I need professional help and can not overcome it alone. At this point I almost gave up my job and studies because of the symptoms.
