With many issues, the first session will allow us to take the first step towards your goals, thus gaining some immediate relief and further inspiration. Session time is 50 minutes.
At the end of the session we agree on a plan for treatment, including the estimated length of therapy (This estimation is also based on research data on the typical treatment outcome of that type of problem). After discussing the presented issue in detail, specifying our goals, and agreeing with you on the plan of therapy, we can start our collaborative work towards your goals in a solution focused manner.
As a result of the first session:

You will learn how evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural, Relaxation & Meditation methods can help you personally.
You will receive relevant reading materials about the methods & concepts we use in our work.

Online Therapy via Skype can have the following advantages:

Relaxation training, Mindfulness training, and many types of Coping Skills training work perfectly well and is delivered on Skype as well. Additionally, the client can use his/her therapeutic mp3 recordings alone between sessions (with prior guidance and instructions from the therapist).

The average treatment length in Skype Therapy with CBT is around 6-10 sessions. It can take 2-6 or more than 10 sessions for successful treatment, depending on the presented issue. We collaboratively put together a plan that we find reasonable and always monitor how we are doing regarding our goals.
Therapy does not stop at the end of sessions. In this approach, we find it very important to always agree on certain therapeutic assignments between sessions. It is a kind of extension of therapy, that facilitates the manifestation of meaningful changes in client’s everyday lives.
These therapeutic assignments can be: Practising evidence-based relaxation or meditation techniques; Listening to therapeutic mp3 recordings; Engaging in behavioural exercises (e.g. facing anxiety provoking situations in a graduated way with learned coping skills); Filling in brief records of exercises; Reading materials about therapy (given by me, or in a recommended book).
